This week, in the Bible study class at church, the teacher mentioned that “I AM” is the title used by God to refer to Himself. I am filled with gratitude to God!
It has been more than thirty years since I accepted the Lord Jesus. Perhaps because I have an educational background as an engineer, I have to learn logical thinking in everything and only believe in and accept reality based on evidence. Therefore, I have to believe that the Bible says that the Holy Spirit dwells in my heart. Although I believe it with my head, in my heart, because there is no practical basis to prove it, I have no solid way to cite it from my heart that the Holy Spirit dwells in my heart. Even when I first believed in the Lord thirty years ago, I experienced the Holy Spirit saying in my heart: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you and your family will be saved.” However, I often asked God in my heart because I had no substantial evidence. “Is it you? Or am I out of my mind and thinking I heard Your voice?” Then, sometimes for no reason, a small voice in my heart gently said, “I AM.” But because I don’t know that this is a voice from God, I let that voice pass come and go from my heart. Gently brushing by without responding to God. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized that the true God who created the world wanted to let me know that He was calling me. He wanted me to know that He was real, living in my heart, and could hear my prayers. He can also see everything within my heart and soul and know my thoughts. But I haven’t known or understood His thoughts for more than twenty-some years. Children of God, please don’t be as ignorant as me. When the Holy Spirit moves you in your heart, ask God if He is speaking to you. If the Holy Spirit says to you, “I AM.” Then you can begin to have a dialog with HIM. It’s better if you really can’t hear God speak to you, but it would be a pity if you missed it.
Don’t be afraid, God will talk to sinners. In the darkest days of my life, it was my God who often spoke to me through the Holy Spirit when I doubted whether I really heard HIS voice. Holy Spirit told me, “Don’t be deceived by the evil one.” I was confused in my heart and asked the Lord, “Is it you?” The gentle but majestic voice appeared again and said, “I AM.”
“You have to walk on the narrow road. …”
Think for many days, uncertainly ask, “Is it you, Lord?”
“I AM.”
“My precious blood is enough for you. …”
Think for many days, no idea and ask, “Is it you, Lord?”
“I AM.”
“My name can drive away the darkness in your heart. …”
Think for many days, hopelessly ask, “Is it you, Lord?”
“I AM.”
My soul can then slow to furious and return to normal from the hands of the evil one. I can rely on my Lord and be dragged out by Him. If you ask me, is it real? To this day, there are still times when I feel as if I am dreaming. It is because the phrase “I AM” often appears in my heart. Then, HIS voice becomes an assurance from heaven to me that it is not a dream.
I am not a smart person, and I still feel unworthy. Many times, when God said to me, “I AM.” My tears flow down uncontrollably. Why does a man cry so often? I really don’t understand. Why did the Lord speak to me as an ordinary man personally, confirm to me that He is real, lead me to His arms, and let me kneel down to Him willingly, confess my sins and repent. Or maybe people are too smart and will be like King Solomon. Although he once prayed on the altar that as long as God’s people sin and repent and ask God for forgiveness, he will definitely forgive them. But King Solomon was such a wise man, and his wisdom was given to him by God. However, he only had two times in his life God appeared to him and two more times God spoke to him directly. Who knows how many times in his life that he missed the opportunity from the calling of God? In the end, God clearly told him his sins, but he was unwilling to repent. That was a pity.
Dear readers, do you see GOD? The LORD who created heaven and earth and all things, the true Trinity. HE is my master and my best friend. HE lives, forever lives! Even I kneel down every day shamelessly, I will still hold HIS leg and unwilling to leave HIM. HIS noble, loving and fearful name is “the LORD, GOD of armies”!
